We finally have a detailed look at the information for the Water Tower and what has been released about the other upcoming towers! Some info has been covered previously, but we wanted to point out some new information.
Earth Tower Signups will occur on March 1st. There will be 128 spots available with the same prize structure as Water Tower. Top Cut for Casters Cup 2022 automatically get a spot in addition to those 128!

Tower Caster Benefits
On top of the cash, and product prizing, the Tower Caster will also gain the following benefits:
- Direct access to Top Cut at Caster’s Cup
- Tower Casters automatically get placed into the Top 32 at Caster’s Cup, but must represent their Aura Type. Tower Casters who control multiple towers may choose their preferred Aura Type.
- VIP access to events
- Tower Casters receive direct invites and VIP tickets to all of our events such as release events, conventions, parties, and more!
- Access to a special Discord channel
- Tower Casters will receive access to a private channel on our Discord server only available to Tower Casters and MetaZoo Staff.
- Tower Defense Team
- Tower Casters will have the ability to create a team of 4 other Casters that represent the Aura Type of the Tower they control. The Tower Caster and their team must defend their Tower each year at the Tower event leading up to that year’s Caster’s Cup. In order to face and possibly replace the Tower Caster starting in 2024, other Casters must first face this sanctioned team in the event’s top cut.

- Tower Casters will be eligible for special sponsorships. More details on this is TBA.
Other Prizing & Merchandise
Promo packs will be provided for participants with special stamped and holographic versions of important/iconic Aura Pages from all sets that match each Tower’s Aura Type. There will be Spectator, Player, and Staff versions of these promo packs.
All participants will receive a Caster badge. Casters that compete in a Tower event to completion will receive a star on their badge. The more Tower events a Caster attends, the more stars they can potentially receive. These stars will function in the same way as an oak leaf cluster in US military uniforms.
There will be Aura-specific plushies, mini binders, lanyards, hats, and jerseys with each Tower event. These will be made available to LGSs for free that are local and organizing events in anticipation of the Tower event, as well as handed out and/or sold at the Tower event.
Event Overview
Each Tower event will be free to play! Each Caster will construct a Spellbook of their choice following the Spellbook Requirements outlined in this document. Casters must bring a valid government-issued ID, the Spellbook and Archive they plan to play with (in the order listed on their Spellbook Submission), and up to four unique 4th Wall items they would like to represent during the event. Although refreshments are usually provided at our events, we recommend Casters bring snacks, water, and phone chargers to the event.
Day 1 – Main Event
Format: Professional, Pseudo
Match Structure: Best of 3 games, 50 minutes per match
Round Structure: Swiss Pairings, 7+ rounds (may change depending on attendance)
Day 2 – Top Cut
Top Cut: Top 32 Casters from Day 1
Format: Professional, Pseudo
Match Structure: Best of 3 games, 50 minutes per match
Round Structure: Single Elimination, 5 rounds
Terra
Tower events may have certain Terras “active” during play. These Terras do not need to be Contracted in order to be considered active, and conversely, those Terras cannot be destroyed by Page Effects. In addition to this, all Terra Bonuses active and specific for that Tower will have a 3x multiplier.
Example:
A Caster is playing in a Water Tower event. That Caster controls a “Black Demon” and an Ocean Terra is active. “Black Demon” would gain 75 additional Damage on its Attack instead of the usual 25 from the Ocean Terra.
Spellbook Requirements
A Caster must have a minimum of 40 Pages in their Spellbook and no more than 15 Pages in their Archive. Additionally, Casters’ Spellbooks must consist of Pages totaling at least 60% of that Tower’s Aura, not including Aura Pages. The only exception to this rule are Pages with dual Auras. A Caster may not make any changes to the contents of their Spellbook or Archive once the event has started.
