MetaZoo Earth Tower 2023 Official Sign-Up Form
Sign-up for the Earth Tower event will occur at 12 pm EST, Feb. 28th, and will be open until 3/9 at 3:00PM. Be prepared to fill out a Google Document that includes an ID card and a link to the event that qualifies you on the MetaZoo Play Network.
**IT IS ASSUMED THAT YOU WILL HAVE PLAY AT A SANCTIONED METAZOO EVENT AT AN LGS WITHIN THE PERIOD OF JANUARY 27th 2023 through MARCH 8TH IN ORDER TO QUALIFY.**
A reminder that registering isn’t sufficient, you must play to completion. If this changes we will shout out the update!
MetaZoo has announced with the overwhelming response the sign-ups for the first tower tournament sizes will grow. Going forward starting with the Earth Tower sign-ups will no longer be first come first serve, but rather built around the number of players that sign up!
Prizing
The winner will be crowned as this year’s Earth Tower Caster and receive $20,000 cash, $30,000 in MetaZoo products, and exclusive swag! Cash prizes and exclusive prizes will also be awarded to those placing 2nd through 32nd place.
Terra
Active Tower Terras are:
City
Desert
Ground
Mountain
Swamp
These Terras do not need to be Contracted in order to be considered active, and conversely, those Terras cannot be destroyed by Page Effects. In addition to this, all Terra Bonuses active and specific for that Tower will have a 3x multiplier.
Spellbook Requirements
Just like the first Tower a Caster must have a minimum of 40 Pages in their Spellbook and no more than 15 Pages in their Archive. Additionally, Casters’ Spellbooks must consist of Pages totaling at least 60% of Earth Aura Type Pages, not including Aura Pages or Terra Pages. The only exception to this rule are Pages with dual Auras. A Caster may not make any changes to the contents of their Spellbook or Archive once the event has started.

FAQ Questions regarding registration from the Offical Tower Document
- Do online events qualify me for a Tower event?
- No. You must play in person at an event organized by a game store.
- What format must the qualifying event use in order to make those Casters eligible for a Tower event?
- Any format is acceptable, however, Casters must play through the entirety of the qualifying event. For example, an event consisting of 5 rounds would require Casters to play all 5 rounds. A Caster that drops after the 2nd round would not be eligible for a Tower event, as they did not play through the entirety of the event.
- I am an MZO/TO organizing a qualifying event in anticipation of a Tower event. Do I need to play in a separate event to qualify for that Tower event?
- Yes.
- I am under 18, can I still play in a MetaZoo Tower event?
- Yes! Eligible participants younger than 18 years old can compete in a MetaZoo Tower event as long as they have their parent’s permission. An official MetaZoo Games Permission Slip must be signed and notarized by the legal parent or guardian of the minor. A physical copy of the notarized MetaZoo Games Permission Slip must be given at the MetaZoo Tower event during registration.
- I was invited to compete in an event. Can I swap my spot with a friend or teammate?
- No. Only those directly invited may participate in an event. We understand that circumstances change, so please reach out to us at play@metazoogames.com if you are unable to attend an event for any reason.
- Will there be a second round of invites to fill the spots of those who cannot make the event/do not confirm attendance in time?
- At this time, it is unlikely.
